On May 13, ahead of the National Science and Technology Workers' Day, Tan Lihong, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairperson of Shanxi Association for Science and Technology (SXAST), led a delegation to the School of Stomatology of our university. The delegation visited and extended condolences to Wang Xiangyu, recipient of the 2025 Outstanding Science and Technology Worker, and held a symposium, delivering care and warmth from the organization to frontline science and technology workers. Zhang Xuedong, Director of the Publicity and Research Department of SXAST, Li Peng, Deputy Director of the Shanxi Academy of Sciences and Experts Service Center, and other officials from relevant departments, as well as Ren Xiuyun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Stomatology, Zhao Bin, Dean of the School, and heads of some departments and key professional backbones attended the event.
The condolence scene was warm and harmonious. Tan Lihong presented flowers and sincere wishes to Wang Xiangyu, and spoke highly of her dedication to deeply engaging in the field of stomatology, devoting herself to scientific research, and sticking to the frontline of clinical practice for a long time. As an outstanding representative of stomatology in our university, Wang Xiangyu has always attached equal importance to clinical practice and scientific research over the years. She has led and undertaken a number of major national and provincial public welfare and public health scientific research projects, and has always stayed at the frontline of clinical diagnosis and treatment, guarding the oral health of people in Shanxi with exquisite medical skills and humanistic care, vividly interpreting the dual missions of a science and technology worker and a medical worker.
Ren Xiuyun expressed sincere gratitude to the SXAST delegation for their visit and guidance, stating that the school would turn this care into a strong driving force for work and development, continuously strengthen the construction of scientific and technological talent teams, and fully support the development of scientific research. Zhao Bin noted that the school would give full play to the pioneering and exemplary role of the "Outstanding Science and Technology Worker", inspire all faculty and staff to take advanced models as examples, and continuously improve clinical diagnosis and treatment capabilities, scientific research and innovation levels, and public welfare service quality.
In her statement, Wang Xiangyu said that this heavy honor was both encouragement and motivation. In the future, she would turn the honor into a strong driving force, base herself on her own post, stay down-to-earth, devote herself to the cause of stomatology with more enthusiasm, strive to produce more high-quality scientific research achievements, and provide better and more efficient oral medical services for the people.
This condolence and symposium activity not only made frontline science and technology workers truly feel the care and attention from the Party and the government, but also further gathered the striving force of the school for scientific research innovation and serving the people. All medical and scientific research workers of the School of Stomatology will take advanced models as examples, adhere to the original aspiration of medical practitioners, bravely undertake the mission of the times, empower medical development with scientific and technological innovation, and make new and greater contributions to promoting the progress of medical science and technology in Shanxi and safeguarding people's life and health.
