On May 15, the 2nd Midwest (Taiyuan) Greater Health Industry Expo, 2026 the 24th Shanxi Medical Devices Exhibition, and Shanxi Scientific Instruments and Laboratory Equipment Exhibition grandly opened at Taiyuan Jinyang Lake International Convention and Exhibition Center. The conference also held the Founding Conference of Shanxi Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Health & Wellness Industry-Education Integration Community.
Our university organized several research teams to display a number of patented innovative achievements at the exhibition, fully demonstrating the university’s innovation strength in industry-university-research integration and scientific research innovation in the greater health field. The exhibited products cover three major directions: precision medical equipment, intelligent TCM health & wellness, and medicinal-edible homologous food. The research team of Yang Xiaofeng exhibited the NIR Optical Molecular Imaging Intraoperative Navigation Imaging System, which supports precise clinical diagnosis and treatment relying on cutting-edge optical imaging technology and has shown sound clinical application and industrial promotion prospects. The research team of Tong Ling from the School of Pharmacy presented five original national patented products, including Queyixing Electronic Moxibustion Device, Jinwu Fang Rapid Hair-Darkening Ointment, Jinxiangmien Jieyu Stress-Relief Aroma, Jinmian Fang Calming Sleep-Aid Ointment, and Lumian New Type Facial Filler. These products cover intelligent TCM devices, herbal health care ointments, aromatic calming fragrances, medical aesthetic repair products and other fields. The exhibited achievements feature high scientific and technological content, strong practical value and excellent industrial adaptability, showing the university’s fruitful results in health product research and development, intelligent medical equipment development, and health & wellness innovation.
The exhibition fully displayed the R&D characteristics and application advantages of various scientific research patented products in the forms of physical display, function demonstration and interactive experience. Among them, Queyixing Electronic Moxibustion Device stood out from numerous exhibited projects with outstanding technological innovation and industrial implementation value, winning the Equipment Innovation Award of this Expo, becoming the only equipment innovation project to win this honor at the exhibition, demonstrating the university’s leading level in the research and development of intelligent TCM equipment.
During the exhibition, our university and its affiliated enterprise Taiyuan Shanyi Hospital Management Co., Ltd. joined the Shanxi TCM Health & Wellness Industry-Education Integration Community. This exhibition participation and community membership are full affirmations of the university’s scientific research innovation ability and education effectiveness. The university will take this opportunity to continuously deepen the greater health industry track, promote multi-field collaborative scientific research, accelerate the incubation and market transformation of national patented achievements, improve the integrated development system of industry-university-research-application, empower the construction of Healthy Shanxi, and boost the high-quality development of the greater health industry in the Midwest.
