In the afternoon of 22ndJanuary 2018, Shanxi Medical University holds the Opening ceremony of the first batch international students. Secretary of SXMU Mr Zhang Junlong, Vice Secretary Mr Wang Jun,Vice President Mr Wang Hongwei, Secretary of First Clinical Medical College( First Affiliated Hospital) Mr Chen Liping are invited to be present in this ceremony. Mr Wang Hongwei, the Vice President, hosted the ceremony, the deans of all the departments of SXMU and 75 international students from 13 countries are invited in this ceremony.

The Secretary Mr Zhang Junlong made the speech. He firstly warm welcomed the international students , and pointed out that the arrival of the 2017 batch international students is an important event for the university’s internationalization. SXMU’s international education has opened an entirelynew chapter and made a big step.
The Chinese teacher, Ms Wan Heda, expressed her confidence in teaching, and reviewed the progress made by students in a few weeks. The student from Pakistan, a 2017 batch international student representative, spoke in Chinese, expressing her gratitude to the school and teachers. She said she would cherish time and study harder in the new future to achieve her doctor dream.

Ms Yu Xiaoxia, teacher from Division of International Cooperation and Exchange, led all medical students with the right fist, solemnly made the Medical Students vows.

In 2017, Shanxi Medical university has enrolled 75 international students from 13 countries: Algeria, Botswana, Gabon, Cameroon, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somali, Tanzania and Zambia. Overall, 64 students are from "One belt one road" countries and it is 85.3% of all the international students.
