In order to implement the ideological and political education and promote the spirit of resistance to COVID-19 to the students, the Department of Pediatric Medicine invited “the hero of anti-COVID-19”、the pediatric nursing supervisor of the First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University---Zhang Huirong to give a lecture on “life first, working together” in Zhongdu Campuson October 17th. 144 college freshmen from the department attended the meeting.
During the lecture, Zhang told her experience during the epidemic fighting to the students. She said that many medical workers volunteered one by one to support Hubei and Wuhan patience at the critical moment of the outbreak of plague. They stood out bravely in the face of urgent and dangerous tasks and showed their devotions to the career. They had to wear the heavy medical protective clothing all day long, so that the sweat and tears had soaked to skin. The behaviors adhered to their firm professional belief of never giving up and the professional integrity of contributing towards the patients.
The students were deeply affected by Zhang’sspirit of anti-COVID-19. Through the story, they had a different understanding of the historical and contemporary responsibility of the young generation. They said they would work hard to learn professional knowledge, to enthusiasm towards life and work and contribute selflessly in the future, as well as live up to the earnest hope and sincere teachings of the school.
