On September 10th, Shanxi Medical University has been authorized with an official IELTS test centerby Ministry of Educationand held an opening ceremony at Academic Hall in the Teaching and Administration Building of Zhongdu Campus.
Ms Zhang Yilei, the director of IELTS Examination Center, expressed her gratitude to SXMU for the efforts on establishing IELTS test center and briefly introduced the British Council and IELTS test. She said she was looking forward to having further cooperation with SXMU in English teaching and tests.\
Professor Wang Hongwei, the vice president of SXMU, addressed that the authorization was a highly recognization for our achievements in international education. He expected that the establishment of the IELTS test center could greatly benefit for training more international talents and accelerating the internationalization of the university.
LELTS Test Center in SXMU now has 21 written test rooms in Duxing A Building and 10 spoken test rooms in Teaching and Administration Building, which can accommodate 330 candidates at a time. Moreover, the first IELTS test was held successfully on August 31st with 188 students. As the second IELTS test center in Shanxi province, SXMU IELTS test center has not only builts a platform for teachers and students tobe available with international English learning resources,but also provides great convenience for the candidates nearby. It will certainly contribute to the enhancement of SXMU's internationalization.
