    Delegation from University of Michigan visit our school

    On October 24th, Professor Jody R. Lori, the vice director of the International Affairs Department of Nursing College in University of Michigan and Professor Gao Li, the president of the Institute of Advanced Nursing in International Council of Nurses visited our school for the first time. The welcome meeting was held at Conference Room 2 in Teaching and Administration Building of Zhongdu Campus on October 25th. Diao Haipeng, the Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and the vice president, Zhang yanbo, the director of the Academic Affairs Office, Fan Qinghua, the director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Division, Yang Hui, the president of the Department of Nursing, and the representatives of graduate students attended the meeting.

    Diao Haipeng first expressed his warm welcome for their first visit to SXMU and introduced our school history to the delegation. He said that SXMU was a school with a 100-year history and nursing was one of the best majors in China. International exchange and cooperation were important for school development and we had established several cooperation platforms with universities in many countries such as Japan, Singapore and Ireland. UM was a well-known university which was honored as one of the Ivy League Universities and had lots of value experience in education and management system. This visit would promote the further cooperation between the two universities and benefit both of us.

    Shang Linping then gave a detailed introduction to the delegation about Nursing of our school on the teaching model, curriculum provision, teacher training, cultural activities and the construction plan of the training center.

    Professor Jody R. Lori and Professor Gao Li expressed their gratefulness and desire for deeply cooperation with our school. They introduced the nursing education and scientific research condition in University of Michigan, and highlighted several projects with cooperation potential, including teacher training and talent student cultivation at different levels. Finally, our two school signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, which was a solid foundation for our future collaboration.

    During this visit, the delegation was also guided to the Remote Consultation Center of the First Hospital, the Training Center of the Department of Nursing, the Life Science Museum, the Library and the International Student Apartment.
