On September 29th, the National Commendation Conference for Women Pace-setters (individuals and collectives) Fighting against the COVID-19 Epidemic was held in Beijing. With the theme of "Promoting the great anti-epidemic spirit ", 800 female role models and 200 groups were honored. Remarkably, 21 outstanding ladies and 4 advanced collectives in Shanxi Province are on the list.

Among them, four medical staff from our school won the honor, including Zhang Zheng (the deputy head nurse of the special department of the Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University) , Zhang Wenjing (the surgical head nurse of Nursing Department of Fenyang Hospital, Shanxi Medical University), Zhao Hui (the deputy director of PCCM Department and secretary of Respiratory Medicine Branch of the Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University), Yang Hongyu (the director of Nursing Department of the Pulmonary Hospital Affiliated to Shanxi Medical University [Taiyuan Fourth People's Hospital]). The COVID-19 Emergency Ward of Taiyuan Fourth People's Hospital was awarded the collective honor.

These ladies are diligent, dedicated and brave. They devoted their lives to the practice of medicine, expressed their respect for science and showed the boundless love for patience. On behalf of thousands of Chinese women, they interpreted the benevolence of doctors with courage and hard work, and protected people with responsibility and dedication. Their precious spiritual wealth is worthy of our respect, learning and inheritance.
