The celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China held on first October 2019 in Beijing, the capital of China. Amid a salvo of gunsalutes, China celebrated this historic event with a grand military parade and 100,000-people mass pageantry, manifesting to the world its full confidence as a socialist country to achieve modernization the Chinese way. His excellency Xi Jinping, president and general secretary of the Communist.Party of China (CPC) Central Committe and chairman of the Central Military Commission attended and sent congratulatory wishes to the motherland.

In SXMU, more than 400 representatives from the affiliated hospitals and Yingze campus, came to the teaching office building in Zhongdu campus to watch the live aerial broadcast of the event.

When addressing in the celebration, President Xi Jinping said that no force can ever shake the status of China or stop the Chinese people and nation from marching forward. The world has been undergoing tremendous changes unseen in a century. Resistant external forces and headwinds still remain. "Zero-sum game" and "superior civilization" mentalities, among others, are prevailing. The CPC will continue to lead the Chinese people to fight trade hounding, blackmailing, and hegemonism. Only the CPC can lead China to emerge as a stronger country.

At the parade, a series of new, sophisticated weaponry were unveiled. They will be used to safeguard China's national sovereignty and territorial integrity, protect China's overseas interests and promote world peace and development, as China's defense policy has always been defensive in nature.

Taking its 70th founding anniversary as a new starting point, China is now sprinting toward building a moderately prosperous society in all respects by next year, just before the CPC celebrates its centennial anniversary in 2021.
