Recently, the Ministry of Education announced the list of newly added key laboratories of the Ministry of Education.Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Coal Environmental Pathogenesis and Prevention in Shanxi Medical University was authorized for the key laboratory of the Ministry of Education.

At the end of 2021, the Ministry of Education launched a new round of application for key laboratories. With the strong support of the Provincial Department of Education, our university will focus on a series of key topics, such as the prevention and treatment of pneumoconiosis, birth defects, malignant tumors and other major diseases related to coal environmental pollution to build a professional team.

The key laboratories of the Ministry of Education play an important role in conducting high-level scientific research and carrying out academic exchanges and cooperation in universities.

Under the guidance of Xu Jianguo, and the director of the Laboratory Professor Xie Jun, the studies focuses on "Environmental Pollutant Exposure and Disease Risk Assessment", "Monitoring, Warning and Early Intervention of Health Damage" and "Transformation of Prevention and Control Technology"etc. These studies have promoted the solution of environmental pollution in coal resource-based areas. they have also laid the foundation for China in the research field of coal environmental disease, and provided a "Chinese Plan" for solving coal environmental public health problems and building a community of human health.
