On January 8, the "2024 Seminar on Innovative Frontiers of Basic Medicine," organized by the School of Basic Medicine and the Key Laboratory of Cell Physiology of the Ministry of Education, was held at the Zhongdu Campus. More than 300 domestic renowned experts in related fields and our school's faculty and students attended the conference. Jiao Xiangying, member of the university's Party committee and vice president, delivered a welcoming speech, while Lu Li, dean of the School of Basic Medicine, presided over the opening ceremony.

Jiao Xiangying pointed out that we are currently experiencing a rapid development period in the national health care industry. In the face of major diseases, medical professionals can only achieve new breakthroughs in solving public health issues through continuous innovation and interdisciplinary cooperation. He stated that the university would take this conference as an opportunity to continuously strengthen research efforts and platform construction in the field of basic medicine, such as neuroscience and cardiovascular research, and promote interdisciplinary cooperation and exchange to elevate scientific research in the field of basic medicine to new heights. He encouraged the attending teachers and students to cherish the opportunity, humbly seek advice from experts, expand their academic thinking, and continuously improve their academic research capabilities.
The conference featured keynote presentations by academician Gao Tianming from Southern Medical University, Professor Liu Huirong from Capital Medical University, Professor Xu Guangyin from Soochow University, Professor Yuan Zengqiang from the Military Medical Research Institute, Researcher Xiang Ye from Tsinghua University, Professor Zhao Qiang from Nankai University, Professor Wang Sheng from Hebei Medical University, and Professor Guo Xing from Nanjing Medical University. Each expert presented on topics such as cardiovascular research, neuroscience, structural biology, oncology, and nanotechnology in biomaterials, focusing on "Frontiers and Cross-disciplinary Innovation," sharing their latest research findings, technological advancements, and clinical applications, providing the audience with a feast of ideas and knowledge enlightenment.

Basic research is the foundation of science and the source of technology. The aim of this conference is to promote higher-quality development in the discipline of basic medicine through academic exchanges, sharing research findings, and discussing innovative theories and new technologies.
