    Our University Elected Vice Chairman Unit of the Alliance and Wins Excellent Talent Cultivation Achievement Award at the 2025 China-Africa Education Cooperation Innovation and Development Forum

    Recently, the 2025 China-Africa Education Cooperation Innovation and Development Forum, themed "Seizing New Opportunities for Innovative Cooperation and Jointly Pursuing Modernization Dreams", concluded in Wuhan, Hubei Province. Our university achieved dual breakthroughs in both outcomes and platforms: its submitted case Fivefold Cultivation for Medical Talent: A New Paradigm for China-Africa Medical Personnel Training was successfully selected as an "Excellent Case of China-Africa Education Cooperation", and the university was elected Vice Chairman Unit of the China-North Africa International Education Innovation Alliance, becoming the only university in Shanxi Province to receive this honor.

     

    Our university has long regarded international medical talent cultivation as a key pathway for advancing the opening-up of education. It has systematically promoted the reform and innovation of training models for international medical students, establishing a relatively mature international medical talent training system. To address the practical needs of China-Africa medical and educational cooperation, two teachers from the School of International Education, Zhang Di and Rong Na, developed the "Fivefold Cultivation for Medical Talent" model. This model proposes a philosophy for international medical student education centered on "Moral Cultivation, Professional Proficiency, Physical Wellness, Mental Resilience, and Practical Dedication", realizing the organic integration of value shaping, competence development, and quality improvement.

    Guided by this philosophy, the School of International Education has further constructed the "DOCTOR" Characteristic Talent Training System, encompassing six core components: Direction Anchoring, Operation Refinement, Cross-cultural Integration, Therapy (Clinical Practice), Outreach (Quality Development), and Reinforcement (Career Sustainability). This system runs through the entire journey of African students from enrollment to employment, systematically enhancing their medical ethics, professional competence, and cross-cultural adaptability. It provides a replicable and promotable practical approach for China and Africa to jointly build a community of health for all.

    Notably, to mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and African countries in 2026, the forum specially organized the selection of "Excellent Cases of China-Africa Education Cooperation". Our university's "Fivefold Cultivation for Medical Talent" achievement, with its advanced educational philosophy and remarkable practical results, was successfully selected as one of the 9 national excellent cases.

    Based on its solid accumulation in promoting regional education internationalization and sustained influence in the field of China-Africa medical education, our university's election as Vice Chairman Unit of the China-North Africa International Education Innovation Alliance will help further integrate high-quality China-Africa educational resources, expand multilateral cooperation networks, and comprehensively elevate the level and influence of international exchanges.

    Co-hosted by the China-Africa Innovation Cooperation Center and the China-North Africa International Education Innovation Alliance, the forum conducted in-depth discussions around two core themes: "Higher Education Talent Cultivation" and "Vocational Education Cooperation and Innovation". More than 500 representatives from the educational and business sectors at home and abroad, along with dignitaries, ambassadors to China, and experts and scholars from 11 African countries, gathered to exchange experiences and explore cooperation opportunities.
