May 19, invited by the Foreign Affairs Office of Jinzhong Municipal People's Government, international students from our university took part in the themed activity for "5·19 China Tourism Day". The event was undertaken by Jinzhong Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and co-organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of Jinzhong Municipal People's Government, held at Yuci Ancient Town.With the theme of "Enjoy Quality Tourism, Embrace the Beautiful Rivers and Mountains", the activity showcased Shanxi's profound historical and cultural heritage and characteristic cultural tourism resources through artistic performances and cultural exchanges. It fully demonstrated the achievements of integrated cultural and tourism development, and fostered a sound atmosphere for civilized and healthy tourism.

Twenty international students from 3 countries in our university attended the Shanxi cultural tourism promotion and exhibition activity as representatives. They immersed themselves in the summer scenery of Yuci Ancient Town and performed the folk song The Praise of Shanxi on stage, winning warm applause from the audience. With sincere emotions and appealing performances, the international students expressed their love for Shanxi's regional culture and deep affection for their study and life in China.Centering on Sanjin folk culture, ancient town features, intangible cultural heritage and achievements of the cultural tourism industry, the activity vividly displayed the unique humanistic charm of Shanxi, serving as an excellent platform for Sino-foreign cultural exchanges and telling stories of Shanxi well.From an international perspective, this tourism-themed activity provided an important opportunity for international students to gain in-depth understanding of Chinese and Shanxi cultural tourism. Through immersive experience, they deepened their cognition of China's natural scenery and the vitality of tourism in Shanxi. Interactive exchanges also enhanced their understanding of China's social and urban development.

As an important part of the international student cultural exchange activities in our University’s Xingguang Community, this participation in the "5·19 China Tourism Day" themed activity has further enriched social practice and cultural experience forms for international students, and inspired their enthusiasm for taking the initiative to spread Chinese culture and tell China’s stories.Our university will continue to rely on the Xingguang Community platform to expand carriers for cultural practice activities for international students, promote mutual learning and exchanges between Chinese and foreign cultures, and cultivate more outstanding international talents with global vision and cross-cultural communication competence.
